Since day one, we have believed that regenerated fabric belongs both in your closet and on the runway. So does GANNI, the contemporary Copenhagen-based designer brand dedicated to becoming “the most responsible version of itself.” Sharing parallel visions of a future where fashion is transformed by circular materials, our partnership began in November 2023 with the creation of a best-selling, oversized jersey that harmonized beautiful design with regenerated material.
Set up in 2019 to research, test, and ultimately scale innovative materials that challenge conventional ones, GANNI’s ‘Fabrics of the Future’ initiative aims to reduce the brand’s carbon footprint by 50% by 2027—and for their main collection to consist of at least 10% ‘Fabrics of the Future’, like cycora®. We’re thrilled to support these goals into the future—the jersey was only the start of our journey toward large-scale impact together.
“In terms of design, my heart beats the most for responsible fabrications, and our ‘Fabrics of the Future’ programme feels akin to magic.” – Ditte Reffstrup, GANNI’s Creative Director.
Founded in 2000 and run by the husband-and-wife duo Nicolaj & Ditte Reffstrup, the cult-popular Danish brand is channeling the momentum of their worldwide growth to champion the development and adoption of advanced materials that can act as alternatives to virgin leather and wool—and regenerative solutions for cotton and polyester.
Favoring progress over perfection, GANNI is committed to what they consider a “pretty outlandish goal for a company that is still growing,” as expressed in their 2023 Responsibility Report. “Still, it's extremely important for us to rally around a moonshot goal and do our absolute best to make it a reality because it’s what is needed to reach the 1.5 degree target set out in the Paris Agreement.”
They seek to revolutionize fashion not only by piloting new material innovations with partners like us—but to scale and commercialize, bringing ‘Fabrics of the Future’ into their main collections consistently. It’s an ambitious goal. Recycling and upcycling solutions are imperfect at the systemic level. Many material innovators are still in early stages. And yet, by aligning their decision-making with bold environmental ambitions—even when it’s difficult—GANNI is setting a new precedent for brands to follow.
“The time to create change is now, no excuses.” – GANNI
In September, our next-gen dream team-up premiered on the world stage as GANNI debuted its SS2025 collection ‘The Craft’ at Paris Fashion Week. Powered by cycora®’s vintage molecules, three new regenerated looks hit the runway: Reimagined versions of GANNI's best-selling jersey (our collab piece that started it all). The jersey dress in white was custom-designed by the esteemed celebrity stylist and couturier Claire Sullivan, who used cycora® to breathe regenerated magic into her transformative design. On fashion’s most visible and renowned runway, GANNI demonstrated that through our groundbreaking science, modern-day alchemy is real.
An incantation to individuality, The Craft “proposes a wardrobe for the future, where the GANNI girl holds the magic formula”—and the keys to a more harmonious relation between fashion and our Earth. The result of an exploration of 30 alchemic fabric processes, the cycora®-infused collection proves that sustainability has a high place in high fashion.
